There you go! “Stubborn” redone. This is done in acrylics and took me about 40-50 hours to paint, compared to the 15 or so on the original (it was a speed painting contest). It definitely looks like I imagined it to be and I’m very happy with the way it turned out. I’ll be including this at the upcoming Leprecon 36 here in Phoenix next month.

With the help of my wonderful husband my website is finally complete!
I am so lucky to have such a supportive husband he sacrificed a lot of time into the website and to help me get started with this blog and other things to help get my art out there! So please take a look around and tell me what you think.

It’s been a while but I’m back. This has been a pretty busy month! My In-laws came down and we actually did some National Parks hopping. I didn’t realize how many Indian ruins there really are here in Arizona!
The Art-a-thon was a lot of fun and I sadly had to part with this beautiful fairy:

What a week! And this next one is going to be about the same! My sister came to visit from Idaho this past week. It was wonderful seeing her again, but I also had to be a mom to a sick little boy. He got Pink eye and a cold at the same time. But [...]

Hello! I hope everyone is doing well this fine day! Down here in the desert we have been getting lots of rain and it has been a nice 60 degrees. Winters are wonderful down here but I do miss the snow. I have been working on a piece the last couple of days for this contest. Here is a photo of the work in progress:

I’m trying to update my blog regularly, but sometimes I get sucked into my art and forget about everything else. I’m sure you artists know exactly what I’m talking about
. I have a goal to post updates about three times a week right now, but it is kind of sporadic on when that happens as you likely have noticed. I’ve incorporated several ways for my readers to stay current with my posts – updates on Facebook and Twitter, subscribing to the RSS feed through one of the several buttons and links around the site, the ability to get email updates sent, and now it will also show on my art gallery’s news page (or at least it will when it’s finished).

I’ve been keeping my husband busy this past week with my galleries website’s re-design. He is such an amazing guy you won’t believe how much work and time he has put into helping with not only my website but this blog and has been teaching me how to use everything along the way. I’ve designed a new logo that I’m going to use on it and try to incorporate into other places like my business card and maybe on here as well eventually.

Jerry’s Artarama will be hosting an Art-A-Thon for Haiti. We are inviting artists to attend and participate in 3 or 6 hour blocks. Artists who attend the event will produce/donate their piece of artwork for the silent auction fundraiser to benefit the recent earthquake victims in Haiti. The silent auction will coincide with the Art-A-Thon, as we will invite the public to attend later in the day at which time they can begin submitting bids for the works being produced.

We made it to the annual Arizona Renaissance Festival on opening day this year. A much better experience for us than when we attended 2 years ago during its final weekend. The crowds were a lot smaller, the people were full of energy, and my son let us enjoy most of it. One of the things I missed was enjoying the musical performances, my son, sadly, doesn’t show much interest in that sort of thing and feels he must express it verbally during the performance. The sacrifices of a mother *sigh* oh well. But with that aside everything else was great! We saw some great juggling and tightrope walking and of course the JOUSTING! We were rooting for the blood thirsty knight – it was pretty awesome!
